We are thankful for every Subscriber, Playwright, Actor, Board Member, Director, Donor, Theatre Artist, Volunteer & Employee and their invaluable contributions to this theatre company.
Salt Lake Acting Company's 2011/2012 Season is off to a wonderful start! We are thrilled at the success and rave reviews of God of Carnage and our World Premiere of (a man enters) which was extended a week. We are currently in rehearsal for our third annual professional children's production, How I Became a Pirate, and look forward to continuing our tradition of free matinee performances for Title I elementary schoolchildren. We are also proud to announce that our subscriber numbers are up by 472, bringing the total number to 2,420 subscribers and counting.
Over the past year, we have recognized our invaluable history of artists and audiences whose contributions to Salt Lake Acting Company are the foundation we continue to build upon. SLAC also welcomed Kathleen Cahill as Playwright in Residence, producing the World Premiere of The Persian Quarter, which was nominated for the Steinberg/ATCA New Play Award by the American Theatre Critics Association, and went on to a reading at Timeline Theatre (Chicago) and a full production at Merrimack Repertory (Massachusetts). In the spring, we will produce the World Premiere of Kathleen's evolutionary comedy, Course 86B in the Catalogue.
We couldn't do this work without you.
SLAC is proud to develop, produce, and champion new work through the New Play Sounding Series, the Fearless Fringe Festival, and World Premiere productions — a true affirmation of this theatre's mission and purpose to contribute to the American theatre.
As our focus turns to the coming months of community partnerships, outreach programs, productions, and new play readings, we recognize that the energy, clarity, and growth will continue because of your contribution. Every single play we produce matters and is a celebration. We are deeply and forever grateful to you – you give us great confidence in our work and the vital role SLAC plays in making Utah a culturally vibrant place to live.
Please consider giving a gift of $25, $50, $100, $500, or any amount, by donating securely online: Donate to SLAC. Your tax-deductible contribution will support the work of SLAC this coming year.
Wishing you health and happiness this holiday season, Brett Johnson, Cynthia Fleming & Keven Myhre
President, Board of Trustees and Salt Lake Acting Company Executive Producers
