SATURDAY'S VOYEUR '10- Ninth week of performance by Actor Jesse Pepe

VY_Lone_RangerWow, where has the summer gone? I am seriously dumbfounded by the fact that time just seems to get faster and faster; my life always running ahead of me and I am perpetually playing catch-up with it. This VOYEUR process has been no different. Incredible company, cast, crew, audiences…everyone involved has made this experience so special and wonderful. Yet as this summer comes to a close, I cannot help but think that one person in particular deserves distinct recognition. There have been many blogs this summer. Some have been humorous, some have been factual, some heartfelt. What I give to you is…well…a combination of all of them. Being a part of this show, you have the privilege of hearing many memorable quotes throughout the rehearsal process. Yes, many of these came from the actors.
But if you think the funniest person in the room was one of us, you are dead wrong. Without further ado, I give you the Chronological Quote Ode to Cynthia Fleming.

- (Beginning of the process, in reference to the teacher who had sex with the 14 year old) “You know they have those big tops. Those tops that are…big.”
- (After finishing first full run of Act 1-two weeks in) “God. I feel like I’m done with the entire show.”
VY_hottub- (While talking about the shape of the girls’ legs in the hot tub choreography) “Ashley, you need to make your ‘V’ smaller. Jeanette’s ‘V’ is smaller than yours right now and you need to tighten yours up because it’s too big. Just like two inches.”
- (During Kissin’ Part 2 choreography…this entire scene was cut, f.y.i) “Alexis! You’re doing such a great job! You’re picking up these steps so fast, and this is a lot of dancing! Of course, you’re not singing yet…”
- (While working Enough is Enough, the song we rehearsed for a total of close to 13 hours) “There needs to be more of a build in the Mascaro, Riesen section. Do you know where I am in the music, Kevin?”
Kevin- “Yes.”
Cynthia- “Good…Where am I?”
-(While working Enough is Enough…still…) Kevin- “Cynthia, we can speak sing some of these lines, but we have to speak sing in rhythm. It can’t just be any goddamn place, you know?”
Cynthia- “I know. Kevin, you have the patience of Job. Whatever the hell that means.”
-(While working the legislature, the only scene that even came close to rivaling Enough is Enough in terms of rehearsal hours) “Stephanie, now this might be hard for you, but I’m going to need you to use your big girl voice in this legislature scene. All of it. Big girl voice. Can you do that?”
Stephanie- (Low, manly grumbling)
grubby- (While tightening up Grubby, Grubby Money…keyword ‘tight) “Girls, girls. You need to be tighter. Much tighter. If you’re not tight, this whole thing isn’t gonna work…so be tight.
