The Caretaker by Harold Pinter- two weeks into rehearsal by director John Vreeke

imgp0241Director John Vreeke:  “I’m so very impressed with SLAC after two weeks of very concentrated hard painstaking and intense work on THE CARETAKER- a play that grows in stature minute by minute as we work on it and begin to understand the three people in the story. From the artistic leadership through the actors, designers and stage manager, we’re all learning what the title Caretaker means. The play, the title and all it’s various evocative meanings gives us our best guide. We are all the Caretakers, all of us, of each other, ourselves, our theater, our work and our humanity. And, as a result, the idea of Caretaking has given us our guide for behavior in rehearsals – the young actors who play the brothers, both so very smart, gifted, believable, truthful and compassionate in their work and in their patience with the process.”
