UTBA | UTBA reviewers sound off: EXCELLENCE IN 2011

"During 2011, UTBA reviewed over 200 productions from Logan to Cedar City. Moreover, there were likely hundreds of other productions that didn't receive a UTBA review for a variety of reasons. Instead of trying to systematically evaluate all these productions, we invited our reviewers to reminisce about the year in Utah theatre and tell us what the productions that they thought represented artistic excellence in Utah theatre during 2011."

"I really need to attend more shows at Salt Lake Acting Company, because I am always impressed when I do. This year, I was engulfed by Circle Mirror Transformation. "There are 3 equity productions that stand out to me this past year. First, SLAC's Persian Quarter delighted me like only a Kathleen Cahill script could. Matthew Ivan Bennett's Mesa Verde at Plan-B was beautifully directed, and Eric Samuelsen's Borderlands (also Plan-B) featured such relevant and local themes within simple and strong characters framed by excellent direction. In fact, that's what all three of these shows had in common: strong characters, timely themes, and beautiful direction and acting. Step 1) Pick your night. Adult Subscriptions: Previews ($118) Wednesdays ($118), Thursdays ($134), Opening Night Fridays ($186), Fridays & Saturdays ($166) Sunday Mats ($154) Sunday nights ($118); 30 & Under/Theatre Artist ($81) and Students ($61).
Step 2) Tell us what seats you'd like. Front of house, middle, back, center or aisle? Would you like to sit with friends? We do our best to match your requests to the performance night that makes it possible. For SATURDAY'S VOYEUR 2012, would you prefer theatre row seating or cabaret, high-top, or sky-box table seating? As a subscriber, you get the same great price regardless of where you sit.
Step 3) Choose to add on DOTTIE - THE SISTER LIVES ON! (Subscriber price) and/or HOW I BECAME A PIRATE, our third annual children's show (Subscriber Adults $22; Children $12).
Step 4) Provide us with some basic info: your name, address, phone number, email. You can pay by credit or debit card, check or cash.
Step 5) Your tickets for the 2011/2012 Season will be sent to you mid-September.
Step 6) Remember you can exchange tickets as many times as you need, for free over the phone, we love at least 24 hours notice, and you also receive discounts for family and friends to all shows including VOYEUR.
